Ariel Olivia Terrell-Cannon is a dedicated operations and administrative leader whose career is grounded in service, community and a genuine commitment to helping people thrive. With experience spanning youth development, legislative support, nonprofit leadership and community programming, she brings a compassionate, people-first approach to every environment she serves. Ariel is known for her strong logistical mindset, her ability to create order in fast-paced settings, her talent for building meaningful relationships and her focus on ensuring programs and services run seamlessly for everyone involved.

Before joining UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine, Ariel supported families, students and community partners throughout San Antonio in roles with the Texas House of Representatives, the E. Thurman Walker Sports Complex & Community Center, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio and the City of San Antonio. Whether coordinating services for thousands of constituents, supporting youth enrichment programs, or managing day-to-day operations, she has lead with integrity, warmth, and a deep desire to make a positive impact and continues to do so for UIWSOM.

Ariel (pronounced “R.E.L.”) is a natural organizer; she can walk into any room and instantly envision a better, more efficient system. She also has a huge heart for young people; she has mentored and supported more than 600 youth annually through enrichment, leadership development and academic programs. She is especially proud of her work with I.M. BRACE Education, bringing the only HBCU College Fair to San Antonio every February since 2013. Above all, Ariel is a true San Antonian and Texan and proudly claims both.
