Hazim Thomas

Hazim O. Thomas is the Records Coordinator for the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs at the University of the Incarnate Word. He works collaboratively with the Director of Enrollment Services and multiple departments throughout UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine and UIW to ensure accurate registration and records of SOM learners. He is responsible for registering students into the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Biomedical Science programs, and maintaining an accurate record of registration status, leave of absences, classification, tuition charges, financial aid status, and managing health records. He is the SOM liaison to the Broadway Campus representatives (Registrar, Business Office, Financial Assistance, and Veterans Affairs).

Hazim hails from Virginia and is an Air Force veteran. As a veteran and military spouse, he has moved around quite a bit and has experience in a wide variety of professional disciplines including IT, administrative, and management positions. He has served as a Communications Technical Controller with the United States Air Force, a Senior iPhone Specialist with Apple Inc., the Commissioner of Football Officials for DoDEA Europe Schools, a Sports Director for the United States Air Force, and a Regional Director of Quality Assurance for an insurance agency. Hazim completed both his Bachelor of Science in Management and Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management with National American University and is actively working on his Master of Business Administration.

During his time traveling the world with the military, Hazim had the privilege to play football in both Japan and Germany and officiate high school sports in multiple countries and states. When he is not traveling and supporting his sons in their career and athletic endeavors, Hazim trains and mentors high school sports officials.
