Sarah Lang, Ph.D., M.A. is the Director of Academic Support at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM). Raised in San Antonio, she graduated from Health Careers High School and then, wanting to move far from home, attended Bryn Mawr College near Philadelphia, PA. There she received her B.A. in history and then, realizing she wanted to move back home, decided to change course and continue her education at The University of Texas at Austin, earning a B.S. in Zoology followed by an M.A. and Ph.D, in Science Education.
While earning her PhD, Dr. Lang served as a Learning Specialist at the Sanger Learning Center, where she oversaw the supplemental instruction programs for mathematics and biology, managed the center’s study group program, and worked with individual, primarily STEM-focused, learners. Following graduation, she took a position as the STEM Education Specialist at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI), where she assisted STEM and Medicine faculty with instructional design and development. Following this, Dr. Lang worked at the Indiana University School of Medicine as the Foundational Sciences Curriculum Specialist, and ultimately the Director of Curricular Operations, where she managed all things curricular during and after the school’s transition to their revised curriculum.
Dr. Lang moved back to San Antonio and joined the staff at UIWSOM in 2019. She is very excited to be back home in a position that harnesses her expertise to support D.O. and M.B.S learners.
