SIGS Facilitator Clinical and Applied Science Education

Dr. Nadia Gomez-Valdez joined the faculty of the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) as a Faculty Facilitator of Small Group Interactive Sessions (SIGS) in August of 2018. She is both grateful and honored to be a part of the UIWSOM community transforming medical education and its impact on health and healthcare in the global community.

Dr. Gomez-Valdez graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio, obtaining a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Biology. Upon graduation, she decided to pursue medicine at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, receiving her M.D. Following graduation, she moved to Las Vegas, NV continuing her education by completing a clinical internship before returning home to San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Gomez-Valdez is also an entrepreneur and co-founder of a small local laser operating business by implementing her creativity in designing, manufacturing, marketing and managing the business while homeschooling her children.

Nadia has been married to her college sweetheart for 14 years and has two daughters. Her most recent interests are learning about neuroscience, psychology, theology and their integration as an approach to healing and wellness. In her spare time, you will find Nadia helping and volunteering in her church community. She also enjoys listening to podcasts, reading and spending time with family and friends.
