Miller, M.A., Ph.D., is the Director of Assessment and Program Evaluation for the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Prior to joining UIWSOM, he was appointed as an Assistant Research Scientist and Associate Director of Surveys at the University of Michigan School of Education where he received a doctorate in 2004. In 2009, Miller served as an Associate Research Scientist and a graduate faculty member at Texas A&M University - College Station. At TAMU, he assumed an administrative role as the Associate Director for the Education Leadership Research Center and taught graduate-level courses in program evaluation. His early career path (circa 1990) started in Texas as a public-school social studies teacher in Waco, TX., and he later joined Edgewood ISD of San Antonio in 2015 as the Director of Research and Evaluation.
Dr. Miller is excited to serve the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine team as the Director of Assessment and Program Evaluation. He believes assessment and evaluation are an integral part of instruction as they determine whether learning institutions are meeting established goals and serving students' needs and aspirations as they strive for professional success.
