
Michael J. Mohr, DO, MS, FAAFP

A native of Indianapolis, Dr. Mohr earned his B.S. in Medical Technology from Indiana University, followed by an M.S. in Pathology. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998, and his Family Medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin – Columbia Hospital.
From 2001 to 2017, Dr. Mohr practiced primary care in Denver, Colorado, with a focus on infectious disease and HIV prevention, including implementation of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) protocols. He was recognized in 2012 with Out Front Colorado’s Reader’s Choice Award for Outstanding Doctor and served as a longtime board member and past president of the Colorado Society of Osteopathic Medicine.
In 2017, Dr. Mohr became a founding faculty member at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) in San Antonio, Texas. He served as the Founding Program Director for the TIGMER–San Antonio Family Medicine Residency, which was developed under his leadership and achieved ACGME Continued Accreditation. Currently, he serves as the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education and the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for TIGMER, overseeing multiple residency and fellowship programs. His efforts have helped secure over $15 million in grant funding to support the training of more than 150 residents and fellows across Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Sports Medicine and subspecialty fellowships.
Dr. Mohr remains deeply committed to academic excellence, medical education, and improving health outcomes through community-based care. He is actively engaged in clinical teaching and continues to serve as an attending physician at CommuniCare Health Centers in San Antonio.
