Kimberly DeLaFuente joined the Office of Student Affairs at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in December 2021. She is currently a PhD candidate working toward her degree in Leadership Studies at Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU). Her research centers on first-generation college students, psychological hardiness within academics, and morality. Kimberly completed her Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from OLLU and her BBA in Corporate Finance and Risk Management from St. Mary’s University. During undergraduate school she discovered her passion for higher education and working with student-led organizations. Her interest in Greek-letter organizations led her to work with various sororities, fraternities, and honor societies throughout San Antonio.
Kimberly's 15 years of experience working with students in higher education has taught her that every student has a unique educational journey that truly thrives with a good support team. She was inspired to obtain her PhD while working with the McNair Scholars Program at St. Mary’s University. She provided support to the students within the Worden School of Social Service at OLLU and worked within the Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success at Trinity University.
Kimberly has a background in creative design, finance, marketing, and event planning. She also strives to live a well-balanced life by staying active with different group fitness classes, creating artwork, and spending time with her son and two daughters.
