James Mayberry

Assistant Professor Clinical and Applied Science Education

Dr. James Mayberry is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Applied Sciences and Education Department. Dr. Mayberry earned his Doctorate in Medicine at UT McGovern Medical School where he also completed a research scholarship in Nanomedicine and Biomedical Engineering. He also completed a research clerkship and "Short Course" rotation in Aerospace Medicine at NASA. Given his desire to provide full-spectrum medicine and work with patients of all ages, Dr. Mayberry chose to do his residency in Family Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency at UT Southwestern where he also earned a scholarly concentration in Integrative Medicine, with completion of certification through University of Arizona Integrative Medicine in Residency Program. After Residency, Dr. Mayberry completed a fellowship in Genetics and Genomics at UT Southwestern where he learned to diagnose and manage patients with rare and complex disorders.

In addition to a desire to teach medicine, Dr Mayberry's professional interests include Aerospace Medicine, Wilderness Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Genetics and Metabolism. He considers himself a lifelong learner and believes in pursuing spiritual growth, in addition to his academics.
