Kira Casares

Kira Starr Casares is an Admissions Recruiter for the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine.

A native of San Antonio, Kira graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She is the first woman in her family to graduate with a bachelor's degree. Kira is a major advocate for the study abroad experience. She has participated in various study abroad programs in countries such as Greece, Spain, China and Ireland. She has also participated in Semester at Sea, a study abroad program that sails across the world, during her voyage she traveled to Japan, Vietnam, Mauritius and South Africa. Kira's travel adventures continue to other countries such as Italy, France, England, Morocco and Colombia. She hopes to inspire students of all ages to take opportunities toward the study abroad experience.

When Kira is not traveling, she enjoys oil painting, creating miniatures and sewing her own clothes.
