Alexis Wilson

Assistant Professor Clinical and Applied Science Education

Dr. Alexis Wilson is an Assistant Professor in the Developing Osteopathic Clinical Skills (DOCS) division at University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) and practices as a General Pediatrician in Live Oak, Texas. 

Originally from Southern California, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology with departmental honors from UCLA in Los Angeles, CA. She then received her master’s degree in medical sciences and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (WesternU-COMP). 

In 2018, she and her husband made the exciting move to San Antonio, Texas, where he started his Internal Medicine residency with the U.S. Army. Dr. Wilson then completed her Pediatric residency through Baylor College of Medicine at CHRISTUS Children’s (formerly The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio). During her time there, she pursued additional training in breastfeeding medicine and became an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Texas Pediatric Society, Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and Christian Medical and Dental Associations. 

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Wilson and her husband enjoy serving their church community in the Children’s Ministry. They also find joy in exploring new eateries, attending shows at the Majestic Theatre, and actively participating in CMDA Bible studies and local mission outreaches. 

She is eager and grateful to be a part of the UIWSOM family, sharing her passion for osteopathic clinical medicine with aspiring medical professionals.
