Mark Gilger, M.D., F.A.A.P.

In 2013, Dr. Mark Gilger became the first Pediatrician-in-Chief of The Children's Hospital of San Antonio (CHofSA), as well as Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). In 2019, he became Pediatrician-in-Chief, Emeritus of CHofSA and Residency Program Director. Dr. Gilger holds the Sister Angela Clare Moran CCVI Endowed Chair of Pediatrics at CHofSA.

Dr. Gilger joined The University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019. He currently serves as Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and a clinical Core Site Director.

He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the Texas Pediatric Society; the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition; the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; and the American Gastroenterology Association.

He received his M.D. from Creighton University and his residency in pediatrics at University of Rochester. He completed his fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at BCM.
