Dr. Robyn Phillips-Madson, founding dean and professor of Family Medicine at the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine, was the recipient of this year’s Servant of Christ award, given by the San Antonio Christian Medical & Dental Association. Madson will be honored at the association’s 2021 fall banquet on Oct. 19.

UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine set to Launch First Mobile Medical Clinic

With the support of the Moody Foundation, the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) has launched a mobile medical clinic called the Mobile Osteopathic Medicine unit (MOM). The 29-foot vehicle will allow medical students and faculty to deliver services to the community including osteopathic primary care, immunizations, health screenings and more.

UIW Helps Bring COVID Vaccine to Underserved Area

At least three dozen UIW students from the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing, Feik School of Pharmacy and School of Osteopathic Medicine along with over 100 volunteers will participate in a COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic at Southside High School on April 10, 2021. About 1,000 area residents have been pre-registered to receive the vaccine.
