How To Apply: Master of Public Health Program

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the UIWSOM Master of Public Health Program. If you have questions during the application process or if you would like to schedule an appointment with an admissions representative, please contact the MPH Program at DODOC@uiwtx.edu or call (210) 283-6998.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, subject to available space, and evaluated based on academic success, leadership experience, tenacity, program fit, and commitment to public health. Entry into the MPH program is at three points each year: Summer, Fall I, and Spring I Semesters. Standardized test scores are optional for admission.

UIW's Master of Public Health Application Process

To begin the application process, complete a UIW Graduate Admissions Application.

Please indicate the Summer, Fall or Spring term as your anticipated start date.

Summer 2026 - June 1st

Fall 2026 - August 24

Spring 2027 - January 11

First-time Users: Create an account to start a new application. (This link is for people who have never been a student or employee at UIW.)

If you have completed a UIW degree and are seeking a second degree, you must complete a new application as a first-time user.

Returning Users: Log in to continue your application. (This link is for current students, TIGMER residents, and current employees of UIW.)

The CV should include comprehensive details about personal work experiences, community service, awards, honors, publications, etc.

Applicants (other than those currently enrolled in the UIW DO and PharmD programs) are required to send an official transcript from all institutions attended. This includes all undergraduate, graduate and any healthcare professions education. Applicants with pending coursework should send an updated official transcript after completion of coursework.

Paper transcripts must be mailed directly from the institution to UIW in a sealed envelope and printed within the last year. Please use the following address:

While there is no minimum undergraduate GPA requirement for application, a 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred. 

Applicants having a GPA under 3.0 may be admitted conditional or unconditional if additional application requirements (letters of recommendation, personal statement) are reviewed positively by the MPH Admissions Committee. 

Two letters of recommendation are required. The letters should attest to the applicant's capacity for graduate-level coursework. Letters from faculty and/or work supervisors should be submitted on the recommender’s letterhead. (No letters of recommendation are required for UIW DO and PharmD students.)

Applicants are to include a personal statement and answer UIW MPH Program Questions included on the application.

 

Although not required for the MPH program, applicants may send standardized test scores (i.e., GRE) to the UIW Graduate Admissions Office following the instructions below.

Scores may be submitted as follows:
