Crystel Harb, DO, MPH, DipABLM

Dr. Crystel Marie Harb is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) and serves as the Associate Director of Osteopathic Education and Core Faculty in the Community-based Family Medicine residency program at the Texas Institute of Graduate Medical Education & Research (TIGMER).

Dr. Harb earned her D.O. at UIWSOM as part of the inaugural class in 2021. Her postgraduate residency training in Family Medicine with Lifestyle Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine was completed at TIGMER in San Antonio, TX where she served as Chief Resident and received the Outstanding Leadership & Professionalism award for Patient Care with Empathy. Upon residency graduation, she pursued the clinical pathway for board-certification in Addiction Medicine and earned this through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She is currently board-certified through the American Osteopathic Association in Family Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and Addiction Medicine. Additionally, she is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Harb previously obtained her Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology with a concentration in Global Health through the University of Texas School of Public Health in 2016. She was previously faculty in the Department of Public Health & Policy at the University of Texas at San Antonio from 2017-2023; where she earned the Merit Teaching and Life Award for Outstanding Professional Faculty in 2019 and published her own Epidemiology textbook to use in her classes in 2021.

She is passionate about teaching and is honored to continue to be a part of UIWSOM's mission of lifelong learning and service as an educator.
