Application Process
All UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine learners are encouraged to apply for financial aid by completing the following steps.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using school code: 003578.
A FAFSA is required each academic year to determine financial aid eligibility.
UIWSOM does not require parental information. - Review and accept the financial aid offer via BannerWeb Self-Service.
Select the Financial Aid tab and View Your Award by Aid Year.
Complete the Electronic Consent, Terms and Conditions, accept/decline loans, and complete all outstanding tasks. - Apply for scholarships.
Visit UIWSOM Financial Assistance and Tuition for a listing of scholarship opportunities. - When all required steps are completed, financial aid funds are applied toward the cost of tuition and fees on the scheduled disbursement date. Any excess funds will be refunded to the learner. For more information on refund methods, visit Tuition and Payments.
Reminders
- Review your enrollment and tuition statement each semester for accuracy.
- If you have private health insurance, be sure to waive the UIW-sponsored insurance by the established deadline. The insurance waiver is valid for one academic year. A waiver is required for each year that a learner has private insurance.
- Compare your accepted aid to the tuition statement to determine if additional funding is needed or anticipated refund amount.
- Federal loans are subject to a loan origination fee. Therefore, the amount accepted is not the exact amount applied toward the cost of tuition and fees.
