Elizabeth Holguin

Research Associate

Elizabeth Holguin started her position as Research Assistant-Associate at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in February, 2019. She received her Master’s degree in Immunology and Infection from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in February, 2018. She has been instrumental in getting a wet lab up and running and working alongside faculty members to assist them in their research projects. She is proficient in cell culture, DNA extraction and purification, PCR, gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, vector cloning, cell transfection, and Dual Luciferase Assay. She is developing proficiency in RNA extraction, histological analysis, and HPLC analysis. She is eager to assist faculty who might need these techniques to answer a research question.
