Standardized Patient Educator and Clinical Outreach

David Offenbaker, Jr., MSN(c), RN, joined the staff of the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020 as the Standardized Patient Educator and Clinical Outreach Coordinator.

A native of Jourdanton, Texas, David holds a Baccalaureate of Nursing degree from Galen College of Nursing and is currently completing his Master of Science in Nursing Education and Public Health degree at Purdue University. He worked as a nurse educator and managed clinical simulation at the university level in his previous roles. David’s previous experience also includes medical-surgical nursing, Intensive Care Unit nursing and community/public health.

David enjoys healthcare professions education as well as epidemiology, specifically cancer epidemiology. David is a cancer survivor after battling a rare form of renal cell carcinoma in 2019. On his spare time, he serves as a mentor to aspiring nursing students and kidney cancer survivors.
