Dr. Wratten received her AB and MD degrees at the University of North Carolina and later an MBA at UTSA. She practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in a single specialty group in San Antonio Texas for 28 years. During that time she held several positions in medical staff leadership including managing partner for Women Partners in ObGyn, and in the Baptist Health System ; Chair of Department of ObGyn, Chief of Staff of Northeast Baptist Hospital and President of the Medical Staff . Dr. Wratten was also active in the community as a member of the Health Education Advisory Committee for the Northeast Independent School District (NEISD)and member and chair of the NEISD Physician Advisory Committee.

Dr. Wratten left clinical practice to pursue roles in hospital administration. She was associate CMO for the Baptist Health system and then CMO for Seton Medical Center in Austin and Chief Quality Officer for the Seton Family of Hospitals. During her years in healthcare administration her areas of interest and responsibility were patient safety, and experience, quality of care and performance improvement. She led Seton in setting up a systemwide LEAN Management program designed to engage every member of the healthcare team in continuous improvement in systems and processes for the benefit of patients.

Dr. Wratten also serves as Clinical Director of the Louise Batz Patient Safety Foundation. An organization dedicated to increasing awareness of medical error as a major cause of patient injury and death and in empowering patients to be active members of their healthcare teams.

Dr. Wratten has a husband, 3 grown sons and 2 grandsons that are the light of her life. She is happy to be a part of helping prepare the next generation of physicians for the practice of medicine.
